Learning and Development

Topic Progress:

Talent Development is a key focus area for Savanta, aimed with continually developing and providing opportunities to our talent and empowering teams to build skills specifically linked to areas and roles:

  • Career Management (Savanta-wide programme) – FY20 Q1-Q2 investment
  • Team budgets to build core skills linked to level/roles
  • Special projects (outside team budgets, Board approved business case required)

Given significant investment, training should be treated as important and a key requirement of your role (vs. nice-to-have):

  • Closely aligned to personal and business objectives around skills development
  • Focussed on best enabling our clients to ‘Make Better Decisions
  • Valuable to both the individual and business with clear outcome goals

Teams are provided an annual budget with the objective to maximise budget efficiency and ROI.  The budget will be managed — in conjunction with Central Services — by an L&D lead/small group.  L&D budget must cover:

  • Training courses
  • Membership/subscriptions, e.g. MRS (justified based on need/use vs. nice-to-have)
  • Attendance at conferences/events if linked to development goals
  • Subsistence linked to training/sessions, e.g. lunch and learn sessions, training workshops, subsistence linked to external training courses
  • Travel associated with L&D

Attendance on training, once confirmed, is compulsory and changes only accepted based on exceptional circumstances:

  • Responsibility of individual to ensure they manage diaries/workload to ensure attendance
  • Savanta may require training fee to be partly/fully paid back by individual if credit not available
  • Non-attendance may impact future training opportunities available

On completion of course attendee must complete the course feedback form plus identify ways training outcomes can be shared internally, e.g.:

  • Top 5 learnings/tips email distribution to team/wider team (saved on Egnyte)
  • Comms and Conversations update
  • Lunch and learn session
